About

After graduating in costume design and working as a model coordinator, I spent years dressing actors and models for films, advertisements, and theatre productions. Theatre, especially its directors, deepened my fascination with the history of clothing and ornamentation, both Indian and global. And I continue to be a costume designer/ stylist to this day

Being an avid reader and traveller, I have always sought what lies beyond the obvious. I gravitated toward unmarked bylanes, old bazaars, and flea markets in places most visitors never reach: Morocco, Sri Lanka, Central Asia, Europe, and the smallest towns of India. What began as a personal habit of collecting vintage knick-knacks, silver pieces, and semi-precious stones quietly became something larger.

When people around me consistently responded to my finds with genuine wonder, I recognised something worth pursuing. In 2012, encouraged by my elder sister, I turned my eye and instinct into a full-time vocation. I named the brand “Rabbit Out Of The Hat” as a nod to the unpredictability of curating the rare and unexpected.

Most vintage silver comes to me in pieces, broken, neglected, and often meant to be melted down. I repair and reassemble these myself, keeping their original character. Some finished pieces combine elements from different countries, bringing many stories into one design.

As authentic vintage pieces are rare and cannot be reproduced, I began collaborating with skilled local goldsmiths to extend my aesthetic into a contemporary collection. Today, “Rabbit Out Of The Hat” offers both genuine vintage finds and thoughtfully crafted new pieces, each shaped by the same considered sensibility.

I also rework jewellery that customers already own: pieces that are broken, forgotten, or no longer worn, and transform them into something worth reaching for again.

Every piece in our collection is the result of accumulated knowledge, extensive travel, hands-on craft, and a deeply trained eye. When you invest in Rabbit Out Of The Hat, you are not simply buying jewellery. You are acquiring something chosen and made with rare intention, and that, by its very nature, holds lasting value.
